Specializing in conceptual and installation art, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery offers a fresh perspective on the southern Albertan experience.

Recently named Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin in Blackfoot, SAAG exhibits some of the most compelling contemporary art from around the region and across the country. It’s housed in the historic Lethbridge Library and hosts up to two rotating shows in its larger gallery rooms. There’s also an art library and gift shop open year-round near the front entrance.

Directions

SAAG sits at the junction of 3rd Ave. and 6th St. on the south side of Galt Gardens, the city’s major downtown park. For easy parking, head to the parkade on 5th Ave. S., between 8th Ave. and 9th Ave. Then take a scenic, 5-ish minute stroll through downtown on your way over.
