Celebrate Festival Square's First Anniversary!

Festival Square has officially been open for a full year, and it’s clear that it will be open for many more. After hosting so many incredible events in the last year, Festival Square has been a hub for community fun, and business development. After making such an incredible impact in Lethbridge, and so many successful and exciting events, it's time Lethbridge celebrates Festival Square and a successful first year of events!

Friday, June 9th

Southern Alberta Art Gallery Summer Market

Things Kick off on the afternoon of June 9th at 4 PM with the incredible items up for sale at the Southern Albert Art Gallery Summer Market. Browse the beautiful art and wares of local Lethbridge artists while you celebrate a successful first year of Festival Square! 

Highway 3 Ale Trail Beer Garden

If an art market isn’t your style, then the Highway 3 Ale Trail Beer Garden is sure to be something that everyone (over 18 that is) can enjoy! Get a chance to taste some of the many amazing brews found on the Highway 3 Ale Trail while at the gardens, or try the brand-new Ale Trail Collaboration brew that will be launching exclusively at the beer gardens! The Highway 3 Ale Trail Beer Gardens will be open from 4-8 PM.

The Decadent Phase

The Celebrations are sure to get moving and grooving once the clock strikes 5 PM and ‘The Decadent Phase’ takes the stage! Formed in 2017, this is Lethbridge’s grooviest rock and roll outlet. No doubt, they will be able to get the good times rolling at the Festival Square first anniversary event! No worries if you can’t make it there that early, as there’s still one more act to follow!



Cody Hall Band

After the gusto-fueled grooves of The Decadent Phase, Cody Hall Band takes the stage at 7 PM with a down-to-earth approach to country music. Since 2017, Cody Hall Band has been putting heart, soul, and raw emotion into their Southern Alberta-tinged country music. Whether you’re just a simple toe-tapper or a bona fide professional two-stepper you'll surely enjoy their live tunes. Dance the night away, and just like that, the first day of celebrations for the first anniversary of Festival Square is over.

Saturday, June 10th 

Southern Alberta Art Gallery Summer Market

The second day of celebrations starts at 11 AM with a continuation of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery’s Summer Market. If you couldn’t make it to the Friday market, this is your opportunity to browse all the wares that you missed out on the night before! From 11 AM to 4 PM, you’ll have one last chance to find incredible pieces made by local artists and artisans!

Kid’s Carnival


Also, from 11 AM to 4 PM, Festival Square will also be hosting an incredible kid’s carnival, with free admission and hours worth of fun! Bouncy castles, face painting, games, and so much more await you and the little ones during the kid’s carnival at the Festival Square anniversary event! As a bonus, we will be there to talk all things summer fun and tourism! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, stop by if you need help finding things to do in Lethbridge this summer!

Performance by Magician Trent Tinney! 


During the Kid's Carnival, don’t miss the incredibly talented and award-winning comedy magician Trent Tinney! A professional entertainer, with a wide variety of tricks in his bag to pull from, leaving the whole family is entertained! With a long career of wowing audiences, this is a part of the celebrations you certainly don’t want to miss!

Lighting Up Local Long Table Dinner

The second day of celebrations ends with the 'Lighting Up Local Long Table Dinner'. Unlike all the other events planned for this multi-day celebration, this is a ticketed event. A delicious meal made solely with ingredients from local producers and businesses makes the minimal effort of securing your ticket all worth it. What better way to celebrate Festival Square and its impact in Lethbridge, than with a delicious locally sourced meal? With a full stomach, you can rest easy knowing that day two of the Festival Square 1st Anniversary Event celebrations have ended.

Sunday, June 11th  

Pancake Breakfast 

As the celebrations and weekend start to wrap up, why not grab a little breakfast before you get your Sunday started? Head to Festival Square from 10 AM to 12 PM to help yourself to a delicious pancake breakfast. From there, you can browse some of the amazing shops surrounding Festival Square like Sill & Soil or Analog Books.

With that, the celebrations for the first anniversary of Festival Square are completed, with lots of incredible events planned for the rest of the summer at Festival Square.
