Whoop-Up Days Returns for 2022

June 8, 2022

Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, Lethbridge and District Exhibition announced an exciting reimagining of Whoop-Up Days in honour of its 125th anniversary this year. Whoop-up days return to Lethbridge from the 23rd to the 27th of August 2022.

This year’s announcements boast a long list of performers, attractions and experiences, such as Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, found on the exhibitions grounds when Whoop-Up days arrives later this summer.

This year’s whoop-up days will see multiple themed “pavilions” such as a kid’s zone and a beach zone. The pavilions will also be the classic fair games and rides provided by West Coast Amusements and a food vendors area.

Lethbridge and District Exhibition is also excited to be offering new ways to experience Whoop-Up days. Through a partnership with the Blackfoot confederacy, the addition of a Powwow and Indigenous programming has joined the fair programming.

Lethbridge and District Exhibition invites all to explore the fairgrounds. There, attendees will be able to find premium fair spaces such as the YQLBeach, with an indoor beach party, tiki bar, and music. If you don’t want to go to the beach, there’s also the 1927 saloon. Other attractions like the Mini Fair for kids featuring Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel, Strolling Piano, Extreme Dogs, and Kids Pedal Tractor Pull Show will leave attendees jubilant.

Suppose all that fun still isn’t enough, Whoop-Up Days will also feature a brand-new art exhibit called “La Galleria,” which will feature art from the local community, curated to give a platform and voice to the unique stories and artists you can find in Lethbridge.

Lethbridge and District Exhibition is also incredibly excited to announce the return of the Lethbridge Pro Rodeo for the 2022 year. The rodeo will run from August 25th-27th. The rodeo will feature eight events for audiences to lose themselves in: Ladies Barrel Racing, Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down, Saddle Bronc, Team Roping, Breakaway and Bull Riding, plus the ever-exciting Warrior Relay Races. The Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo invites corporate partners to participate–this event will be broadcast across the competitive circuit.
