The Amazing Race Lethbridge Watch Party Recap!

Tourism Lethbridge, The City of Lethbridge, and the Downtown BRZ hosted a watch party for the Lethbridge episode of The Amazing Race Canada in Festival Square last night July 12th, 2022.

The watch party was put together in collaboration between the three organizations, and with incredible support from Helen Schuler Nature Centre, the Galt Museum and Archives and Fort Whoop-Up, Pixelboom Media, and Cookie Crimes.  

The fun started early in the day, with the Downtown BZR hosting their very own mini Amazing Race scavenger hunt downtown. With clues scattered throughout downtown, locals visited local boutiques and restaurants to earn themselves a free cookie from the delicious downtown dessert shop, Cookie Crimes! 

Things Kicked off in Festival Square just off 3rd Ave. south at 6 PM with a large display screen, provided to us by Pixelboom media, playing music before the show started. Those enjoying the festivities could enjoy food and drinks from Telegraph Taphouse throughout the night on their patio, which is also part of the new festival square.

Also, present in the square with booths set up were Helen Schuler Nature Centre and the Galt Museum and Archives, Ctrl V and Fort Whoop-Up. Helen Schuler Nature Centre and Fort Whoop-Up and Ctrl V were featured in the episode, and they brought informational brochures, as well as the challenges they included in the show, for those attending to see how they would fare in the race!

Once the show started, about 200 people in festival square cheered along as they got to see not only Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Fort Whoop-up, and other incredible attractions in our city! After the event, those attending were invited to continue enjoying our incredible downtown and festival square, or participate in the Downtown BRZ scavenger hunt, which is still running until 5 PM today, July 13th, 2022!

In the end, everything came together for an unofficial (but certainly amazing) time at the newly opened Festival Square! The citizens of Lethbridge were able to come together and see our incredible city in the spotlight and cheer on the racers giving our city its time to shine. With it all said and done, the event went off without a hitch, and it was an absolute pleasure for Tourism Lethbridge to get to host and connect with our community in such a fun, interactive, and engaging way.
