Wide Skies Music Fest 2023 Soars With an Expansive Range of Talent!

Wide Skies Music Festival is one of the biggest and most anticipated music events in Lethbridge every year. It finally returns once again to the 5th Floor of the City Center Park & Ride Transit Terminal this week! The Festival will be running from August 1st – 3rd with performances at 7:30 & 9 PM each night. The festival will feature live music from incredible Canadian Acts. Get Ready to shimmy, shake, and dance the night away under the wide prairie skies of Summer.

August 1st

Witch Prophet – 7:30 PM

After being shortlisted for a Polaris Prize for her last album, Witch Prophet has returned to the stage with a brand new soul/adult-contemporary album titled “Gateway Experience.” The album is a sprawling contemporary collection, rife with layered vocals, loops, raps, and harmonies sure to be stuck in your head long after the first listen. Tanika Charles Band – 9 PM

2x Juno award nominee ad Canadian soul Music icon and pioneer, Tanika Charles has created a name for herself through her incredible talents and stage presence. Honesty mixed with unwavering artistry has cemented Tanika Charles and her band as some of the most awe-inspiring and genre-progressing Canadian Music. August 2nd

Peter and the Wolves – 7:30 PM

Based out of Calgary’s Bowness district, Peter and the Wolves arrive with a fresh take on rockabilly sensibilities. Rowdy, Unstoppable, and carting an urge to shake things up, Peter and the Wolves is on a mission to keep the good times rolling on each stage they perform, with lovingly crafted originals and well-chosen covers, you don’t want to miss Peter and the wolves when they perform at the Wide Skies Music Festival on August 2nd at 7:30 PM

Jesse Roper Band – 9 PM

Jesse Roper and his band are blues and Americana artists with a penchant for making modern indie-infused blues, with an impressive range and flexibility in his abilities, Jesse Roper can put on all kinds of shows. This flexibility has allowed him to perform with icons such as: Booker T. Jones, Colin James, Beth Hart, and Burton Cummings. August 3rd

Shawnee Kish – 7:30 PM

Shawnee Kish is a Juno Award Nominee and winner of CBC’s Searchlight talent contest in 2020. Since then, she had quickly risen as a shining star of Canadian music. She has shared stages with some of the biggest names in music – Including Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Alicia Keys Just to name a few. She has spent 2023 Illuminating stages and putting out powerhouse vocals at every chance she gets. Don’t miss this incredible Performance during the final day of the Wide Skies Festival on August 3rd at 7:30 PM

The Harpoonist (Featuring Gordie Johnson of Big Sugar) – 9 PM

The Harpoonist are a duo of incredibly talented Canadian musicians acclaimed for their maverick blues music. Composed of two incredible musicians, together their accolades stack higher and higher with every passing year. From Juno Award Nominations to having their work featured on projects such as: Blue Bloods, CSI, Snowpiercer, Jade Fever, and many more.
