The days are getting longer, the sun feels warmer, and the Lethbridge is starting to come alive again after winter. We might still get the occasional snowfall (it is Alberta, after all), but April is that in-between season where you can mix outdoor exploring with a few cozy indoor stops.
Whether you're getting outside, checking out local events, or revisiting your favourite spots, here is everything you need to know about April things to do in Lethbridge.
Celebrate Easter
Easter is early this year and it's a long weekend for most people. There are pletny of Easter activities around the city.
- From March 25 to April 6, head downtown for the Downtown Easter Egg Hunt, a fun way to explore local shops while getting into the spirit of Easter.
- Hop on over to Park Place Mall for a photo with the Easter Bunny!
- Chef Stella Diner & Catering is hosting their annual Easter Bunch Buffet on Saturday and Sunday, while on Friday they will be having running some specials! Be sure to make a reservation by calling (403) 359 8704.
- On Sunday April 5th, bring the family to the Norland Historic Estate for an Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt, be sure to bring your own basket!

Take a Walk in the Park
As things start to dry up, Lethbridge’s 280 kilometres of pathways become a go-to for walkers, runners, and cyclists. Winding through the coulees, parks, and river valley, there’s no shortage of scenic spots to explore.

- Lissksiniip Coulee Walk at Lethbridge Polytechnic
- Peenaquim Park
- Elizabeth Hall Wetlands
- Cottonwood Park
Spring is also a great time for birdwatching and catching those first signs of green along the river valley.

Catch a Show
It’s an easy time of year to plan a night out—there’s always something going on. As the weather warms up, so does the events calendar. April is full of live music, comedy, and theatre around the city.
Head to the Owl for live music and events all month long, including Palawan Trivia, Burnt Lung, My son the Hurricane, Jade Elephant and Poetry Open Mic just to name a few! Check out the Good Times Comedy Club for a night of laughs from Wiener Wednesday: Open Mic Night, Queer Prom Comedy, Lori Ferguson-Ford, Sophia Johnson, Dale Ward and man more!
April is a busy month at the Yates Centre. Shows include the Lethbridge International Film Festival on April 20, Ron James comes to town on April 22 and the Ukrainien Dance "Celebrate Spring" is on April 25. Plus much more. Check out the Yates Centre April schedule for more information.

Sip Your Way Along Highway 3
Lethbridge sits along the Highway 3 Ale Trail, stretching from Medicine Hat to the Crowsnest Pass. It’s a great way to explore the region, one stop at a time.
While you’re in the city, stop by the Galt Museum & Archives to check out The Smile in Every Bottle: Sick’s Breweries Ltd. running from March 21 to September 6, 2026. After, make your way to local favourites like Spectrum Ale Works for a crisp ale, with seasonal releases, and beers for every palate and Theoretically Brewing who is known for small batch craft beers, and community events, or take a short drive out to Little Gem Winery who share fruit based small batch wines from locally grown berries!

You can find all seven stops along the Ale Trail map. And a reminder to please be responsible and to have a designated driver.
Coffee & Spring Markets
There’s something about spring that just calls for a good cup of coffee. Whether you’re grabbing one to go or settling in for a slower morning, Lethbridge has plenty of great local spots to choose from.
Try out some of the local favourites:

- Analog Coffee (inside Park Place Mall)
- Cafe Noir

Spring markets are also popping up in April. While you’re out, keep an eye on what’s happening at the Lethbridge Convention Centre where spring markets are happening throughout the month.
