Whether you’re looking for somewhere to catch a tan before cooling off or you want to fully submerge yourself in water-based fun, Lethbridge has the location for you. Read on to learn more about where you can cool off this summer!

Spray Parks

Legacy Spray Park

Located on the north end of Legacy Park, Legacy Spray Park is the newest addition to Lethbridge’s outdoor fun. This location features three different “splash zones”, each of which is targeted for a specific age group: toddlers, families, and ages 5–12. In addition to the large spray park, this location also boasts lounge chairs, picnic areas, and walking trails along the lake, meaning you could spend a whole day there without getting bored!

Gyro Spray Park

Gyro Spray Park is a Lethbridge classic, beloved by many local families. Tucked away behind the Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre, this spray park provides a more private setting, ensuring you can fully focus on having fun. There are multiple colourful water features for your kids to enjoy and ample green space for you to lay back and relax. And hey, if you want to join in on the fun alongside you kids, who are we to judge?

Rotary Centennial Fountain

When speaking of classic summer locations, mentioning the Rotary Centennial Fountain is a must. Located in Galt Gardens, this location has been entertaining local Lethbridge families for years. And with a new playground, kids can enjoy two types of fun in one location! An added bonus is the fountain’s close proximity to Cookie Crimes Ice Creamery, the perfect place to go for a post-park sweet treat.

Rotary Spray Park

Rotary Spray Park is located within the grounds of Henderson Lake Pool. It provides a fun location for toddlers and young children to enjoy playing in the water, even if they don’t know how to swim! Please note that admission into the pool is required to access the spray park.

Public Pools

Henderson Lake Pool

If you’re looking to visit a public pool this summer, look no further than Henderson Lake Pool. Even before its renovations, Henderson Pool has been the go-to spot for Lethbridge families looking for somewhere to cool down in the summer. But though its always been a classic, its upgrades are nothing to scoff at. With two new waterslides, a rock climbing wall, and a spray park all a part of the pool’s facilities, it is impossible to feel even a moment of boredom.

Westminster Outdoor Pool

There's nothing better than an outdoor pool on a hot summer day. If you're looking to switch it up from the popular Henderson Pool, Westminster Pool is always a blast. It features a six-lane, L-shaped swimming area with two waterslides and a kiddie pool with three water fountains. A visit here will leave you dreaming of coming back!

Nicholas Sheran Pool

If we’re on the topic of classic family pools, we have to mention Nicholas Sheran. Their leisure centre has been serving families for year, and their pool is no different. Its indoor location means that you can go swimming any month of the year—you aren’t restricted to the summer months! And if you’re still new to swimming, the pool offers lessons to all ages.

Stan Siwik Pool

Located just off 15 Ave North, the Stan Siwik pool sits in the heart of north Lethbridge. Like many of Lethbridge’s public pools, swimming lessons are offered to all ages. But don’t worry, they also have public swims for those looking for some casual fun.

Fritz Sick Pool

The Fritz Sick Pool is located on the south side of Lethbridge, close to downtown. As with Lethbridge’s other public pools, aquatic workout classes are offered alongside lane swims, public swims, and senior swims. And if all that swimming tires you out, a visit to the nearby Two Guys & A Pizza Place (home to some of the best pizza in town) is a must.

Cor Van Raay YMCA

Located on the west side of the city, the YMCA is one of the biggest pools in Lethbridge, measuring at approximately 51, 000 sq/ft. This pool contains a 25m 6-lane pool, a teaching pool, a wave pool and whirlpool, a surf simulator, two giant waterslides, and more! With so many features, this pool is always a bundle of fun!

Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre

The Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre is located in the University of Lethbridge, and is the city's only olympic-sized pool. This means you will have plenty of space to play or swim laps without bumping into anyone. If you want to test your skills, the Max Bell Regional Aquatic Centre even has a variety of diving boards and platforms!

With so many options open to the public, it won’t be hard to find a fun place to cool down this summer. Whether you need to find a way to entertain your kids or are looking for some entertainment yourself, you’re sure to find something enjoyable in Lethbridge.
