The Dog Days of Summer are here. With over 230 km of paved and natural trails to explore with your furry friend within the city, over ten pet-friendly hotels, and 11 pet stores, Lethbridge welcomes dogs and their owners to visit and enjoy our city.

Remember Your Doggie Etiquette!

Whether you’re visiting or a local, help us keep our beautiful city clean with 224 doggie poop bag dispensers throughout the city. You are never far from a place to grab a poop bag just in case business gets done on your walk. And remember, if they poop it, you scoop it!

It is important to have good control at every off-leash park in Lethbridge. It is also very important to have good voice control over your dog, as some parks on the outskirts of the city—like Popson Park—are home to rattlesnakes. You can learn more about snake safety by clicking this link.

Dog Parks

Peenaquim Park

Peeniquim Park Dog Run is great for off-leash fun! A fenced area allows animals to socialize and train your puppy to make friends, and open trails circle towards the river. For extra fun, a community toy box is located next to the fenced area for you to enjoy as you and your pup walk through the park. This park includes a small dog area for dogs under 25 lbs that want to play with pups more their size. With shaded picnic tables and separate water fountains for dogs and humans, this is a great dog park to allow your dog to play while you relax.

Scenic Drive Dog Run

The Scenic Drive Dog Runs is an off-leash, unfenced area with 2km of limestone pathway that loops through the coulees and boasts spectacular views of the river valley and the architecturally significant University of Lethbridge. The Scenic Drive Dog Run is perfect for early morning or evening walks with your dog!

Park N' Bark Off Leash Dog Area

Just off Stafford Dr., the Park N' Bark dog run is the perfect place for your dog to release some of their energy. If you've got a small dog, this location boats a small-dog-only enclosed area, ensuring your puppers don't have to worry about avoiding the big balls of energy some larger dogs present. The Park N' Bark Dog Area  even provides doggy bags, just in case you forgot—it's truly the all-in-one dog park!

Riverstone Dog Park

Located on the west side of the city, the Riverstone Park run is a great option for those looking to explore a new area of the city. This park offers an off-leash, fenced-in area to keep your dog and their excitement contained—those pesky squirrels will no longer be such a distraction!
