Henderson Lake Golf Club

Henderson Lake Golf Club opened its doors in 1917 and has been keeping golfers happy ever since. This 18-hole course offers stunning views of the beautiful Henderson Lake Park alongside its vibrant green. Lethbridge Golf and Country Club

The Lethbridge Golf and Country Club is one of the only private golf courses in Alberta south of Calgary. If you have a contact, be sure to take advantage and experience this private course designed by the renowned Stanley Thompson—a well-known architect who has designed over 178 courses worldwide. One of the original five historic golf clubs of Alberta, The Lethbridge Golf and Country Club has been the host to provincial and national tournaments since their opening in 1913. Their course is both challenging and beautiful, making. avisit well worth your time.

Paradise Canyon Golf Resort

Recognized by Golf Digest as one of Canada’s top 60 golf courses and the best course in Southern Alberta, Paradise Canyon Golf Resort is a must-visit. Much of this eighteen-hole course rests in the coulees beneath ancient cliffs formed by the meandering Oldman River. Its architect—Bill Newis—artfully incorporated an assortment of terrain variations into his award-winning design. The course provides four sets of tees ranging from 5282 to 6810 yards. Evergreen Golf Centre 

Though all of the courses feature driving ranges, Evergreen Gold Centre takes the top prize for the place to practice. Featuring state-of-the-art training equipment, a clubhouse, ProShop, Toptracer driving range, mini putt, and an enjoyable par 3 course, this is a great place to have fun while honing your skills. There's no better place in down to improve your putt, so be sure to head on down to enjoy impeccable service, beautiful views, and a range of facilities to improve your golfing skills. After a couple of hours at Evergreen Golf Centre, your friends won't believe their eyes!

Bridge Valley Golf 

Bridge Valley Golf is set amongst the coulees and eroded hills of Lethbridge's River Valley. It is perhaps most famous for its stunning views of the High Level Bridge—the longest and tallest trestle bridge in the whole world! Its beautiful green and gorgeous views make it the perfect place to snap a few photos while trying to beat your personal best. This 9-hole course is an affordable option for families, and has been a favourite of both locals and visitors since 1963.

Golf Around Lethbridge

Over the past years, Lethbridge has seen an influx of golfers from Western Canada and neighbouring states wishing to experience the city and the surrounding golf courses of Southern Alberta. If you have an explorer's spriti, venture outside of Lethbridge and check out some of the amazin course that the rest of Southern Alberta has to offer.

Magrath Golf Club 

After a half-hour drive south you'll find the Magrath Golf Club, a player favourite since its inception in 1925. The course maintains well-manicured fairways and features beautiful vistas from many holes. Though not long (at least by today’s standards at 6,300 yards) the course acts as a test of speed. If you're feeling up for the challenge the short drive to the Magarth Golf Club is a must for all visiting the Southern Albertan region. It is a true hidden gem.

Picture Butte Golf Club 

A short distance north of Lethbridge will take you to the 27 holes of golf at Picture Butte Golf Club. The courses are all well maintained with three combinations of play: Heritage, Homestead and Harvest, each of which provide a diverse set of challenges and character. As one of the longer courses on this list, it is a great place to practice your swing; you'll no-doubt see improvement between your first and last hole! Regardless of its length, however, this course is suitable for all skill sets and makes for an enjoyable day of golf.

Lee Valley Creek Golf Course

From Lethbridge, take Highway 5 to Cardston where you'll find Lee Valley Creek Golf Course. The course features numerous elevation changes and some of the region's most challenging greens and demanding par threes, a few even measuring over 200 yards. But with four sets of tees, there are alternatives for every level of golfer.  While you're in Cardston, visit the Remington Carriage Museum, where you'll find North America's largest collection of horse-drawn carriages and stagecoaches. With both history and golf, the drive to Cardston is worth your time.

Waterton Lakes Golf Club

There are few courses in North America that are as scenic, historic, and affordable as Waterton Lakes Golf Club. Inspired by the acclaimed Stanley Thompson and constructed in 1929, this 18-hole gem rests in the shadows of the great peaks of the Rocky Mountains, forming an imposing backdrop for the lushness of the course. Set amongst the serene nature of Waterton Laakes National Park, this course is the place to go for a relaxed game with family and friends. The course has two sets of tees, white and red, that plays 5421 to 6108 yards. You will use every club in your bag!

Crowsnest Pass Golf Course, Blairmore 

Crowsnest Pass Golf Course is Rocky Mountain golf at its finest. From its opening in 1918, this course has been recognized for its beauty. Recently, the Crowsnest Pass course completed a major redesign and renovation. This makeover saw eight new or redesigned holes created, each of which  transformed this course as a definitive destination for golf in Western Canada. Every fairway and undulating green are spectacular by nature and pristinely integrate glacial streams and the nearby pines, making this course a must-visit for anyone in Southern Alberta.

Fort Macleod Golf Course

The Fort Macleod Golf Course is one of Canada's most historic golf courses. In 1890 this course became the first to be built between Winnipeg and the West Coast. With mature tree-lined fairways well-kept greens, it is a pleasure to play. Along the coulee of the first hole, wagon trails can be seen, allowing you to golf the route that once transported the earliest of settlers to Calgary and beyond. On the third hole, bleached bones are evidence of a cattle drive that perished in a blizzard in 1898. With this much golf and history at such an afordable price, this course is one you won't want to miss.
