Throughout the year there are multiple opportunities to experience Lethbridge’s creativity, but New West Theatre's yearly lineup is perhaps the most anticipated by visitors and city-dwellers alike.
New West Theatre is a staple of our community and has been making audiences laugh, cry, and sing along for the past 35 years. They are a non-profit organization who aim to engage a wide audience with diverse theatre productions that never fail to inspire. This summer they are very excited to announce their upcoming 2026-27 season! Each and every performance will have you exclaiming,“That was scene-sational!”
Millennium: Hits from the '90s and '00s
August 6-22, 2026 | Yates Theatre
Are you missing Y2k? Are you wanting a fun night out filled with iconic hits, nostalgia, and amazing musical performances? Well, you could be so lucky if you came to New West Theatre and attended their Millennium Hits show! Reminisce about a decade or two, enjoy the amazing venue of the Yates Memorial Theatre, and take in everything this Y2k music revue has to offer. Make sure to hit the concession for a drink and some snacks and get ready for an electrifying, catchy, end of the world style musical spectacle!
Flight Risk

Flight Risk is a heartwarming story about a blossoming friendship between an elderly WW2 Veteran and a nursing student. This play was written by an award-winning Alberta Playwright that is based on interviews with veterans and nurses in Alberta Senior Homes. This is an honest and humorous story that explores themes of aging, heroism, dignity, and independence. Enjoy a great play that captures the heart of Alberta at our very own New West Theatre!

Stones In His Pockets
February 11-20, 2026 | Yates Theatre
Come to the Sterndale Bennet Theatre in mid-February to hear a hilarious, heartfelt, and theatrical dark comedy. Stones in his Pockets follows a Hollywood film crew who descends onto a remote Irish Village and hire the villagers as extras. With some darker subject matter, this show is only recommended for audiences 14 and up. Witness the mastery of only two actors portraying over a dozen characters and take in this heartfelt and tragicomic play!
