A Student's Guide to Lethbridge Coffee Shops
Having lived and gone to school in Lethbridge for most of my life, I have tried almost every coffee shop in Lethbridge. Though I'm not a coffee connoisseur and have recently found myself drinking more tea than I'd like to admit, I encourage coffee and tea enthusiasts alike to check out the coffee shops that Lethbridge has to offer!
The Penny Coffee House
Whether you're looking for a drink to push you through the school day or a weekend brunch with friends, the Penny has everything you need. The Penny is known for its ambience, and the beautiful copper ceiling and local art that cover the walls contribute to its cozy vibe. Their coffee is delicious, and even comes with a small ginger cookie! For something more substantial, the Penny also offers an extensive food menu. No matter your taste, there's something for everyone. My personal favourites are the cinnamon twists and the strawberry muffins. For a more filling option, the breakfast wraps are delicious and definitely my go-to choice.
Bread Milk & Honey
Bread Milk & Honey has been my go-to study spot for countless study sessions in high school. With their delicious food, baked goods, and coffee, even the toughest homework feels like a breeze. My go-to order has always been their caesar wrap and the chocolate cream pie, even if my lactose intolerance vehemently disagrees. As for my coffee order, it’s a constant rotation, so I can't pick a favourite!

Sonder Coffee
Number one on this list is none other than Sonder Coffee. Sonder has been along-time personal favourite and will be for the foreseeable future. This coffee shop features delicious specialty waffles alongside artfully crafted drinks. They have an attractive building that provides the perfect place to sit and have brunch if coffee on the go isn't for you. My go-to drink here is a London fog with almond milk. Pairing your drink with a waffle is a must. Even if the classic sweet waffle isn’t your vibe, Sonder has you covered with their savoury selection. My all-time favourite is the Brie and Bacon waffle, which—as the name would suggest—is topped with brie, bacon, pesto, and cherry tomatoes.
These aren't the only great coffee shops in Lethbridge—they're simply my personal favourites. If you feel like trying something else, please do, as Starbucks and Tim Hortons are far from the only options. Our local Lethbridge coffeeshops will have you excited and filled up for your future days of exploring!
