Pavan Park

Pavan Park spans approximately 125 hectares on Lethbridge’s northern edge, offering an expansive network of paved and gravel trails perfect for walking, hiking, and riding. It’s the only park within city limits that allows horseback riding, drawing equestrian enthusiasts to its scenic trails. The park is home to diverse wildlife, including deer, coyotes, porcupines, raccoons, rabbits, and a variety of birds, making it a vibrant destination for nature lovers and photographers.

Families and groups can enjoy the Jean Sauvé picnic area, complete with picnic tables, a themed playground, horseshoe pits, and shaded rest zones. For larger gatherings, the reservable John Martin picnic site features covered shelters, kitchen facilities, washrooms, a fireplace, and outdoor grills. River explorers also appreciate the accessible riverbank, where concrete stairs and rocky outcrops provide convenient entry and exit points for water activities.

With its blend of recreation, relaxation, and natural beauty, Pavan Park offers something for everyone—whether you’re planning a family outing, outdoor adventure, or peaceful retreat.
