Pale Horse Tipi Camp
Pale Horse Tipi Camp is a culturally rich retreat located in the foothills of southern Alberta on the Piikani Nation, part of the Blackfoot Confederacy. Operating seasonally from May to September, the camp offers traditional tipi accommodations, each equipped with cots, seating, fire pits, and access to shared amenities like showers and a covered pavilion.
Guests are welcomed into immersive Indigenous programming that may include Elder-led storytelling, traditional drumming and dancing, Blackfoot language lessons, and guided sweetgrass harvesting. These experiences offer meaningful connections to Blackfoot culture in a peaceful riverside setting.
The camp also hosts group bookings and all-inclusive cultural camps, making it an ideal setting for educational programs, family gatherings, or reflective getaways. Owned and operated by members of the Piikani community, Pale Horse Tipi Camp offers authentic hospitality rooted in tradition, respect, and cultural sharing.
