It’s that thyme of year again! The Home and Garden Show returns to Exhibition Park on March 18-21, 2020!
Yes, we said it but don't deck us. Instead, keep digging into our fresh new blog post where we'll root out some of the newest trends in Home and Garden for 2020!
Gardening Trends
Vertical Gardens
Why not go up? Vertical gardens are great for those who live in small spaces or rent and can’t dig up their landlord's grass. The premise is simple — find an outdoor area and build up! The best part if you over water the top layer the water drips down into the next! You can also use your vertical garden as a green privacy wall to create your own little jungle in your backyard!
Sustainable gardening
While most people think what could be more sustainable than gardening you can go above and beyond with this trend! Sustainable gardening can be anything from composting to help your garden grow to planting native flowers/ plants to help your local wildlife (including the bees). Even adding a water feature is a part of this trend, birds, bees and small wildlife can have a drink on a hot summer day.
Home Trends
Colour is the new Neutral
In the past few years, the trend has been clean, bright and neutral. In 2020 the trends are going to the other side of the spectrum with bright pops of colour in your home. Whether it be a bright yellow couch or navy blue kitchen cabinets make your home stand out with a pop of your favourite colour.
Sustainability
Reduce, reuse, recycle, sustainability is a big trend in homes this year. Head down to your local second-hand store and find the perfect piece to complete your living room, as what is old is once again new. Not your style? Why not try a DIY, find some items that you like and make it something you love with a DIY or two — change the colour of the upholstery, paint is a new colour, make it your own!
